New Orleans Mall HIIHHIIHI Men's PU Leather Vintage Short Wallet Credit Card Hold Limited time cheap sale Sale Factory Legends of Honky Tonk we are a focused and creative team. the team consists of top product engineer, architects and senior technical experts from internet, communications, automotive industry. HIIHHIIHI Men's PU Leather Vintage Short Wallet Credit Card Hold CDs Vinyl => Country => Classic Country Sadly, it's out of print. Don't pay the scalper prices for a new copy...hunt around in the "used" offerings...but buy it, and buy it NOW.The crown jewel, for my tastes, is Charlie Walker's mighty "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down." There are a number of versions of this classic available...from Harlan Howard's original, to Buck Owens, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Martina McBride. In 99.9% of the time, I am hesitant to call a version "definitive," but Charlie took ownership of this song in the same way Jimi Hendrix took ownership of Bob's "All Along The Watchtower." It swings, it is cool, it is casual yet confident to the MAX, it is everything a classic "honky tonk" performance should be (and after all, this volume is subtitled "Legends of Honky Tonk").I haven't given this CD a 5 star rating for one song, though. You get 15...37 minutes of music...which is short on one hand, but there is no wasted space here. You get the Possum...classic George Jones mourning "A Girl I Used To Know." You also get Hawkshaw Hawkins ("I wanna be a Papa to a car hoppin' Mama"), Lefty Frizzell, Red Sovine, Hank Thompson, Ernest Tubb and other "not quite forgotten" legends of Country music, specifically in the honky tonk genre. The reason why you can purchase and enjoy a Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson CD in the 21st Century is that these guys were the founding fathers, the hard-living, hard-drinking, hard-loving outlaws who trod upon sawdust floors and raised a ruckus as they offered up a truly unique form of AMERICAN music. This is a carefully assembled collection from Rhino Records, a clear labor of love and a time capsule of days gone by. Five stars aren't enough, but they're all that Amazon will allow. Buy a REASONABLY PRICED used copy while you still can....this would be the first platter I'd put on it. While this is playing, you can close your eyes and almost feel the honky tonk hardwood floor vibrating with the music and the dancers. The "Honky Tonk Heroes" CD over on Columbia is real nice, but not as fine as this: You got your Hank Williams Sr., your early George Jones, your "Wild Side of Life" from Hank Thompson and your Lefty Frizzell. I guess the only thing missing would be a classic from Patsy Cline but I guess you can't have everything or else life, like this CD,would be five stars. Can't hardly go wrong with those, but then you've also got your Leon Payne (the Blind Balladeer)and horny Al Dexter (going nuts for that gal with "her skirts up to her knee"). Did you know that the Al Dexter cut was done in the same sessions as Robert Johnson's recordings of "Cross Road Blues" and other blues classics?Highly recommended, along with the aforementioned "Honky Tonk Heroes" CD.
